Steel coolers are efficient cooling systems designed for installation in several maritime, stationary and industrial applications. Steel coolers cooling the primary circuit using open water. A closed-circuit cooling system, which do not need any water-filters, valves, inboard heat exchanger, raw water pumps, seawater piping and strainers. The Steel coolers can be mounted externally as well as internally into the ship’s hull.

Since seawater serves as the cooling medium, these steel coolers are constructed using anti-corrosive materials, ensuring durability in marine environments. Furthermore, this heat exchanger type is virtually maintenance-free and can be tailored to meet specific operational conditions and temperature requirements.

Steel Coated

In some situations, a treatment of steel coolers with phenol heat-cured coatings is necessary. This is important for the protection against galvanic corrosion and combines this with high heat-conductivity properties.

Steel Galvanised

Galvanized steel cooler is built with regular steel tubes that have been coated in zinc to make them corrosion resistant. Regular steel is made of iron which will rust when exposed to (sea)water. Over time rust will corrode a steel part to the point of failure. To prevent this from happening Weka will provide a custom-made steel galvanized cooler.
